How do I make a submission on the Secure Email service?

Please make sure to include your reference number in the subject line if you are following up on a previous submission.

Do I have to use the Secure Email service to submit files to the OLT?

This is an optional service. Documents can continue to be submitted to the OLT through processes previously established with the predecessor tribunals. This includes submission via email to OLT.Registrar@ontario.ca (including the sharing of links to cloud-based storage platforms) or physically through mail.

Can I submit certified documents through the Secure Email service?

Yes, certified documents can be submitted electronically, either through the Secure Email service or via email, and are not required to be submitted physically.

How many documents can I submit through the Secure Email service?

You can submit multiple documents in one submission, as long as the total size does not exceed 100 GB.

How should documents be formatted when submitted through the Secure Email service?

Materials should be saved in separate documents in accordance with the corresponding submission list, and each section of the list should be titled and saved separately. This is preferable to one large document as it allows Tribunal staff and parties to more easily identify sections of the record. The sections can be zipped into one compressed file for easier uploading through the Tribunal’s Secure Email service. Files should be named as follows:

  • 0000-Table of Contents
  • 000-Cover Letter
  • 00-Municipal Application Form
  • 01-Tab 1
  • 02-Tab 2
  • Etc.

We also ask that the use of subfolders be limited when possible.

How can I pay with cheque if I made my submission electronically?

Certified cheques and money orders should be made payable to the “Minister of Finance” and mailed to the address below:

Ontario Land Tribunal
Attention: Registrar
655 Bay Street, Suite 1500
Toronto, ON M5G 1E5

Please include the name of the appellant/person appealing, reference number and the address/legal description of the property subject to the appeal so we can match the appeal to the payment.

Who do I contact if I have questions?
