You can now submit your documents to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) online via our Secure Email service.

Note: This is an optional service. Documents can continue to be submitted to the OLT through processes previously established with the predecessor tribunals. How do I sign up to use the Secure Email service?

You must submit an invitation request to register and use our Secure Email service using the form above. You will receive an invitation link with a PIN number within two business days. Please go to the link and register with the PIN number (Note: Invitations may be sent to your “Spam” folder). Once you have successfully registered, you will be able to login and submit your documents to the OLT using the Secure Email service.

I registered to use the Secure Email Service, but I haven’t received my PIN yet.

How do I make a submission on the Secure Email service?

To submit your documents, login to the Secure Email service and click on "+ New" and "Secure Message". After each submission, you will receive an automatic reply with a unique reference number. Please make sure to include your reference number in the subject line if you are following up on a previous submission.

Do I have to use the Secure Email service to submit files to the OLT?

What kind of documents can I submit through the Secure Email service?

Please note that documents can only be submitted in Word or PDF format.

How many documents can I submit through the Secure Email service?

You can submit multiple documents in one submission, as long as the total size does not exceed 100 GB. For Municipality/Approval Authority and Appellant/Applicant Forms, please submit the file as a single PDF with searchable text and tabbed electronic bookmarks indexed to a table of content (please review the Municipality/Approval Authority Form and Appeal Form Instructions for full instructions).

Do I have to name the files in a certain way?

All document file names must include the following information:

  1. Document type
  2. Type of party submitting the document
  3. Name of the party submitting the document (including initials if the name is not unique to the case)
  4. Date on which the document was created or signed, in the format DD-MMM-YYYY (e.g. 12-JAN-2021).

Below are sample document names:

  • Expert Report – Defendant – ABC Inc. – 13-MAR-2021
  • Financial Statement Form 13.1 – Respondent – J. Doe – 21-NOV-2021
  • 11b Application – Defence – Smith – 12-JAN-2021


How can I pay with cheque if I made my submission electronically?

Certified cheques and money orders should be made payable to the “Minister of Finance” and mailed to the address below:
